This book is really well written and well structured It is very similar to the MS Press Active Directory book however far superior It could do with a fresh update, but I guess that will happen with 2008 Excellent level of detail for almost everything I ve needed.

I purchased this book off the ratings on here and a look at the authors website I have to say the book is very well written, technical terms are explained, the structure is good and the book flows very well I purchased this due to my job taking me into a deeper AD line of work and I certainly haven t regretted it It is also the sole book I read to pass the Microsoft Active Directory MCSE exam Hopefully they ll be a Windows 2008 update coming and a hardback version would be nice as well Highly recommended.

I have been involved with Active directory since it appeared in Server 2000 I have taught classes on AD, built large infrastructures, and have immersed myself with the technology In my opinion this is one of the absolute best foundational books out there still after nearly 12 years since its release AD hasn t changed much, at its core components, since this book has come out Yes, there have been a lot of improvements but if you are looking to get a solid understanding of how AD works, you can t go wrong here I wish I had bought it when it came out I still refer to it.

Had looked for two months for a book for my staff to learn how to administer AD objects This book covered both the history, fundamentals and how to without digging to the level that they do not have any experience with.Would highly recommend to anyone that is starting out their AD experience by only administering objects.
