epub pdf Azure DevOps Server 2019 Cookbook: Proven recipes to accelerate your DevOps journey with Azure DevOps Server 2019 (formerly TFS), 2nd Edition By Tarun Arora – Mariahilff.de

I like their format of recipes that walk through common requirements I find it particularly interesting that for virtually each recipes there is an associated Azure DevOps Extension that enhances the experience It speaks well of the research the authors have done and the richness and variety of the 3rd party extensions in the Azure DevOps MarketplacesI think because of this format there is something in this book for everyone, whether new to Azure DevOps Server 2019 or someone who has been around the product since the days of TFS 2005. Overrecipes to effectively apply DevOps best practices and implement Agile, Git, CI CD if you are an experienced user you ll learn how to launch your project into a modern and mature DevOps enabled software development teamTable of Contents Planning and Tracking Work Source Control Management Build and Release Agents Continuous Integration and Build Automation Continuous Testing Continuous Deployments Azure Artifacts and Dependency Management Azure DevOps Extensions We have just started with DevOps and found this book very relevant It covers all the essentials of devops right from how to use git effectively branch policies and branching for git has some great tips , setting up ci cd, integration with agile board, test automation, release management, package management and extensibility The format of the book follows a problem, solution format which makes it really easy to understand and apply the learnings I found the test automation chapter very useful as we have started using specflow and it shows u some neat tricks on how to automate the test automation workflows I would recommend this book to anyone getting started with DevOps or looking to scale the use of devops across the organization using Microsoft DevOps Server. The book shows deep experience and covers many details It starts from the beginning and provide from the ground up. Waste of money It has no depth and is very poorly written It seems with Packt you either get a great book, or one that was a waste of time to produce This book covers a fair amount of topics, but does not present the topics in a way that makes the content worth reading It a shame because it it really the only book about Azure DevOps Server 2019. lacking real actions, no detail in how to do it, where to do it, who to do it.
